Matrix Algebra - Introduction

Introduction

Matrix algebra or matrix calculation – the section of mathematics, devoted to work with matrices – one of the most important, common and substantial concepts of the mathematics.

Matrices are, figuratively speaking, bricks and building blocks for construction and use of various algorithms and mathematical models. By means of the matrix apparatus it is easy and conveniently to make various actions at solution of problems in linear algebra,  system analysis, dynamics and strength of machines and mechanisms, theory of control, economy, statistics and other areas of science and knowledge, including solving systems of linear equations, making vector and linear transformations, using the theory of operators, etc. Now even it is difficult to present itself areas where matrix methods of solution of various problems would not be applied.

In the given section the basic properties, actions and methods of work with numerical matrices are presented in a brief form.
